2023 The 6th Kenya International Industrial Expo and Kenya Investment & Trade Fair was successfully held on September 21–23 at the Sarit Expo Centre, Nairobi. The exhibition was supported by the Kenya Investment Bureau, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, the Jiangxi Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Henan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, the Linyi Mall Engineering Materials Market, the Narok County Government, the Kiambu County Government, the Murang’a County Government, and other units.
Pius Rotich, Director of Kenya Investment Authority, Ronald Meru, Chairman of Diplomatic Economy of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Zeng Hui, Second Secretary of Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, Bai Bugang, Deputy Director General of Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; Chen Lingyun, Minister of Trade Promotion Department of Jiangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Wang Congqi, Deputy Secretary General of Jining Municipal People’s Government, etc. attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon.
The exhibition attracted more than 200 exhibitors from Shandong, Jiangxi, Henan, Zhejiang, Hubei, and other regions in China, with an exhibition area of more than 5,000 square meters. The exhibits involved machinery and equipment, CNC machine tools, vehicles and accessories, building materials, hardware tools, photovoltaic new energy, chemical industry, printing and packaging, light industry consumer goods, and other industries.
To further promote two-way economic and trade exchanges between China and Kenya, the exhibition also set up a Kenyan export commodities exhibition area, which attracted more than 20 Kenyan specialty product exporters in the industries of flowers, coffee, black tea, handicrafts, fruits, food, and so on.
During the exhibition, the total number of clients from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia, and other neighboring countries exceeded 24,000, including more than 4,800 VIP buyers precisely invited, and the intended turnover of the exhibition reached more than 87 million U.S. dollars.
To ensure the effect of the exhibition, the organizers carried out a lot of publicity, promotion, and precise invitation work before the exhibition.
